Sometimes used on the first night of Hanukah, ‘Shehechayanu’ is a Jewish Blessing. It is a prayer said to celebrate special occasions, and is also used when you experience something important for the first time and want to give thanks for the moment.

Mostly unison and two part singing, it features an optional section for Klezmer clarinet or other improvised jazz solo. Rhythm section parts (bass and drums) also available. Vocal improvisation and embellishment is also encouraged, but the piece will work without.
